Max is the Catching Coordinator and Director of Communications at Northstar Baseball Club. He also coaches hitters in the Club’s EHP Program. A 2016 graduate of Hopkins High School, “Weez” started at catcher for the Royals during all four of his years in the program, captaining the team during his junior and senior seasons. Max attended the University of Minnesota, acting as a student manager and bullpen catcher for the Gophers during his last two years on campus.

Upon college graduation, Weesner accepted the role of Graduate Assistant coach at Concordia University-St. Paul, a member of the Division 2 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. At CSP, Max coordinated all areas of the catchers’ defensive development, assisted with the hitters, and handled some recruiting duties. In 2022, he joined the staff at Southeastern Community College as an assistant coach, again coordinating catching development and assisting with hitters and recruiting. In Max’s one year at Southeastern, a junior college in the ICCAC, the Blackhawks had their best season in school history, finishing with an overall record of 49-18 and ending the year with a loss to Heartland in the National Championship game at the NJCAA D2 World Series. The Blackhawk offense was among the most potent in the country, finishing the season with the 2nd most runs scored in the NJCAA and the 3rd most hits and doubles, setting the school record in all 3 categories while slashing .328/.453/.499 as a team.

Max graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Management in 2020.
